AI/ML Engineer

About the role

You will work on systems that make August more useful across research, reasoning, memory, tool use, and workflow execution. The role sits close to product, so improvements need to land as real user wins, not just isolated model experiments.

What you'll do

• Improve prompt systems, model routing, tool use, and evaluation quality.
• Build evaluation loops for research, reasoning, workflow reliability, and customer-facing outputs.
• Ship production pipelines that connect models, tools, memory, scoring logic, and user-facing APIs.
• Work with product and growth to turn model improvements into measurable gains.

What we're looking for

• Experience shipping ML or LLM systems into real products.
• Comfort with experimentation, evaluation, and fast iteration cycles.
• Strong engineering instincts around reliability, latency, and cost.
• Ability to separate interesting research from useful product work.
